My latest hobby is to make "Book Bling". I thought the name was original, but as I've searched the internet I find that is quite common. I first bought a few of these book marks from an embroidery store as gifts, but then I thought I'd like to make them myself. When I bought them, they were called "Book Thongs", but Paul thought it sounded gross, so I changed it to my not so original "Book Bling." These little book marks are fun to make and I enjoy the creative outlet. They make a fun gift to give because they are personal and who doesn't love a good book? So when you get one of these for your birthday, you might not be surprised (since you've seen them here), but I bet you will like it!
AND, since I just realized that this is my
100th post, you can make a comment about something you have learned about me that you didn't know before, and you will be entered in a drawing to win one. I will even make it in a color that you like, if you care about that. Since I wrote my first blog entry last June, I'll give everyone till June 1st to comment and then I will draw the winner.

I love the book bling you made for Dad. It is so "him".
Laura, I'd love to be entered in your contest, but I haven't learned anything new about you that I can think of. I already knew you were a great mom, wife, daughter and friend; very creative and talented, using those talents to cheer up others; intelligent, religious, beautiful, hard-working, goal-oriented, kind, giving, etc. etc! Anything good that can be said about someone can be said about you. I'm proud of you and the service you have given in the past and continue to give to your fellow man. I'll never forget our trip to Spain and how you went out of the way to help others who couldn't communicate in Spanish. (Remember the people who wanted tickets to the bullfights?) I love you and I already have a book bling, so I don't need to be in the contest. I just like to give praise where praise is due!
I have learned that you are an insane birthday woman. You go all out for your kids on their big days. What a mom!!! I also learned you have a green thumb, are a triathlon completer, and you are a great commenter on other blogs (Thanks for that!)
I love my book bling.
I didn't know you make this beautiful "Book Bling"...I guess that is something that I didn't know. Actually When I went to Science camp with Cassandra, one of the girls had one...I just love the idea! I asked her where she got it she said she made it! I think the are really cute! You are very creative! (that is something I already knew) I ♥ you
I agree with kathy. You are insane about birthdays. I love mmy book bling as well. It is very pretty.
I learned that you have a garden! Now I want to make one!! I don't really have the place for one though. =(
First off the book bling is too cute! Second- I already knew you were awesome as both a person and a mom, I knew you were artisticly talented (however I did not realize how crafty you were), I guess I am most amazed by your energy. How you ever find enough time in the day to acomplish all you do I will never know. I think I would have to live on nothing by Diet Coke and stay up 24/7 to accomplish 1/2 of what you do. You really do ROCK!
