Camping at Christopher Creek

The kids had Fall break last week and Paul had a few days off so we decided to pack up and go camping in the pines of AZ. At 5, 700 feet above sea level the weather was so much cooler and the fresh air was invigorating. We all had such a good time.
The two hour drive there made Spencer a bit car sick and he wanted to turn around and go home, but as soon as we got out of the car with the promises of roasted marshmellows he quickly started enjoying himself.
Lily loves to be outdoors, but gets over stimulated in such a different sleeping environment. However, with a sedative she stayed calm during the night.
Siena was so excited to do something fun with the remaining days of Fall break. She's a good camper and was so helpful with all the hard work that goes into packing.
During the night the wind picked up and the sounds of it swishing through the trees was so beautiful. It sounded like a rushing river. And then pine needles would rain down from the sky. It was pretty cold when we woke up and it stayed that way til noon, but then it warmed a little. We wanted to stay another night, but decided not to push our luck and quit while we were ahead. It was probably a good idea, but I already miss the woods and the cool weather.

Were you in a tent? I love the nesting birds. It is very funny how casually you mention sedating Lily. I am glad you had a good time.

Sounds like a fun trip. Siena told me she really enjoyed herself too.

P.S. I wish I could look as cute as Siena when I'm just waking up!
