So we bought a new Toyota Yaris. Paul spent all day Saturday on the computer researching cars with the best gas mileage for the best price. Then he went out to test drive a few and then we both went out and picked one. For months we've been talking about getting a hybrid, but when it comes down to it, they are too expensive for only getting a few more miles to the gallon than the Yaris. Plus, we decided we want too many other things to get in debt up to our eyeballs for so many years. The hybrids are cool, but too expensive and they usually have long waiting lists. The Yaris is considered to be one of the best economy cars with the best mileage. We broke out of our shells a little and departed from our usual gold color and went with Pacific Blue. Siena will be happy about that when she gets home.Paul had barely driven it in the garage when Spencer went to check out Dad's cool car and got gum on the door handle. Of course, Paul was peeved to say the least.
Considering that our car died on Friday, we worked fast. We both feel good about our decision which is nice since even an economy car isn't all that economical.

Marina and I rented a Yaris for about a month and really liked it. It did, indeed, get excellent gas mileage, and we put about 1000 miles a week on it. We definitely got our money's worth out of it, and were as happy with it the day we turned it in as we were the day we rented it. I hope ya'll enjoy it. It should be good for Paul's commute.
That's good to hear. I hope it will be a good commuting car.
Tell Paul to lighten-up.
Wait until Spencer finds a hammer.
Just remember I have raised kids that could break an anvil.
Congrats. Great commuting car.
That's a nice color.

Smart to get a four door as well. At least the gum you can get off the door handle easily enough.
Good deal, I know Tom really liked his rental car. I like the color! A new car is so exciting!
